Ant-Man (2015) Annual #1

Ant-Man Annual does its job in making me curious to read the rest of the series. If you have an extra few bucks, I would say pick it up and read it" the character Machinesmith alone almost makes it worth the pick up. |

Ellis has such a great knack for writing comics that go off the beaten path and the artwork by Worley brings a very real, very grounded style to the comics that really makes me excited for the next issue. And let me go one step forward and bring up colorist Morgan Hickman, I know I never bring up the colorist, but his muted colors bring such a noir feel to this comic that makes it read like a comic book but also like a mini-movie in your hands. Pick this book up. |

Sherlock Holmes vs. Harry Houdini #1

Both characters proved in this Dynamite Comic to be nearly identical in terms of their manical-sized egos, and one can only ponder whether their minds together can put an end to their supernatural foes.Carlos(Ryu, Sherlock Holmes: Moriarty Lives)Furuzonos layouts were superb, enough for an ending that only left this Cardinal wanting more. If only Houdini could MAGICALLY deliver issue #2 right now |

Although I have no idea what AXIS is going to bring about with Mr. Hobs, I'd love to see more from this team " and the Goblin King! " since it's very much in the realm of Fraction and Aja's Eisner-winning Hawkeye. And that's best damn compliment I can give this pre-Halloween treat. |

On the flip side is Luke Ross (Gen13, Dark Avengers)behind the pencils. His work reminded me of a cross betweenBryan Hitch and Steve Epting and that is not, by any means, a bad comparison. Its actually a great comparison. He brings a healthy dose of realism to the art. I read the book a few times to make sure I didnt miss anything in the artwork and it was well-worth it. It was fantastic. I am extremely interested where this series goes. |

Still, this is an issue that I want in my collection. Waid and Pacheco are just too good to not pick up the book on a monthly basis. Go out and pick it up. For anyone who is a fan of the show, this will be a great compliment to the series. For anyone who is complaining that the show is too limited due to monetary constraints BUT loves the characters on the show, this will definitely be your cup of tea and for anyone who doesnt like any of it well I cant help you. This is another memorable Mark Waid book. |

The New 52: Futures End #48
Apr 7, 2015 |
This issue really shouldnt be the final issue. As soon as you see where they are going with the next story arc, Futures End #48 ends on a cliffhanger thats nothing short of a disservice to the reader. The final page gives you a variety of comic book covers with the tagline Into the future on to the End, which is awesome, but it should have been given one or two more issues. Look, this is the new comic book business plan: Give the reads the readers a really good story and before you get the ending KAPOW! If you havent yet read this 4-year saga, go TPB. It read almost like The Walking Dead, as single issues dont give you enough information and, yet, read completely awesome in bunches. |

Savage Dragon (1993) #200

But still, I come back to his son, Malcom and the crazy amount of sex that Larson has him and his girlfriend and his step/not stepsister have with each other. It read like a middle-aged man trying to relive what he wished his sex life had been when he was 18 years old. Here's hoping that the next issue rights the ship. As it stands with this issue, this is for Savage Dragon fans only. |
