Batman: Death By Design #1

Aug 1, 2012

Ultimately, this was also nicely put together. The printed cover has a threadbare like quality to it, and the insides scream 1920′s advertising. What is cool is that the publication design was by Chip Kidd himself.

Batman: Earth One #1

Jul 28, 2012

Exactly the same asSuperman: Earth One, with art printed on a textured cover and a black band going down the side with title and credits. For the cover price of 22.99, it's a nice job. Even if it is up two bucks fromSuperman: Earth One, it's still cheaper thanMarvel Season One titles. And I would say for the current price on Amazon for 13 and change, very much worth it.

Cable and X-Force #1

Dec 19, 2012

Vibrant art, vibrant writing. That's the best way to describe Cable and X-Force. There is a lot of dynamic here that Larroca, Hopeless, and D'Armata bring to the comic, but this doesn't mean that it's a perfect book.

Deathstroke (2011) #1

Sep 18, 2011

I'm hoping Higgins and Bennett can keep this up. Seeing a story from a villain's perspective is always a bit refreshing. I was also happy to see nomajor DC characters in this. Superman doesn't show up, Batman is nowhere to be found. It's all Deathstroke's show and no one else's.

Detective Comics (2011) #2

Oct 7, 2011

I know Tony Daniel has had some mixed reviews in the past, but this is a good series so far and issue two was in some ways even better than issue one. His Batman is still Batman, but he's taking other risks that are slowly coming to light. I'm looking forward to more.

Detective Comics (2011) #3

Nov 2, 2011

Despite being only three issues into the series, this is the first weak issue produced. While heavy on the action, the plot moved slowly, maybe because the first two issues had subplots dealing with Bruce Wayne, whereas this issue"taking place all in one night"only focused on his alter ego.

Generation Hope #16

A good penultimate issue for a series that is ending too soon.

Suicide Squad (2011) #1

Sep 16, 2011

Final Thoughts: I love the Thunderbolts, and I wouldn't mind a DC version of it, but this issue started on the wrong foot…in the wrong town. I'll try it for a little while longer and see how the future issues turn out. Maybe it's misguided, but I still have a little faith in this title still.

Suicide Squad (2011) #2

Oct 13, 2011

They tease that characters are going to die and it's clear they are putting much more focus on the four listed above. Deadshot, Diablo, King Shark, and Harley Quinn. Don't they make kind of a sick and twisted Fantastic Four? We have one guy who has flame powers (but not as chipper), one genius in his field (but can't stretch), one goofy tank (but not as morally grounded) and one, um, chick (that's not as hot. Hey, I like blondes). I'm on to you, DC…. I'm on to you.

X-Factor (2005) #236

May 17, 2012

I am very happy to see that Peter David's daughter has started Kung Fu classes. I have no doubt that upon her 18th birthday; Caroline will battle a dragon and become the next Iron Fist.
