Genius feels like a comic from a team that is still finding its voice and developing its craft. That said, its not a bad read and has some terrific pages in it.

The Empty Man may be worthwhile to horror comic fans, especially for those who like thrillers with religious cult angles. Most comic readers, however, will probably put this title down feeling unsatisfied.

While it's a pretty, shiny book like the Spider-Man 2099 #1 of yesteryear, this comic also turned me off with its story. Or maybe, like Miguel, it just found me at the wrong time.

I was so enthralled by Winterworld that I immediately ordered the previously collected stories on amazon after I finished this comic. Some readers may find the premise as fresh as a frozen dinner, but the rest will be happily snowbound.

This one-shot is being marketed by Image Comics as both a jumping on point for new readers and a glimpse into the past for long-time fans. As one of the former, this comic left me eager to delve into more stories from The Darkness.
