Joyride #1
Apr 30, 2016 |
JOYRIDE is definitely a great addition to the sci-fi graphic novel canon. BOOM! studios has something, fun, fresh and special on their hands. All around, JOYRIDE #1 is a solid jumping off place for this new comic, and I'm excited to see where Lansing and Kelly take these characters next. |

Moon Knight (2016) #1
Apr 17, 2016 |
Most of the issue is set in an asylum and we're subsequently presented with the generic evil orderlies as the issue's main antagonists. Despite the clich of the evil orderlies in an asylum, the issue is incredibly taut and focused on Spector's mental struggle. Lemire and Smallwood have added a brilliant layer to the Moon Knight mythos, and I definitely recommend it to longtime fans of the character. It also serves a great introduction to him as well. |

Superman: American Alien #6
Apr 20, 2016 |
Though this issue is light on the action, if you love Superman and are interested in the character, Landis has written a truly awesome version of Superman. I, for one, am excited to see what he has planned for the conclusion of his run in issue #7. Issue #6 is a great character study of Superman and is available now. Go check it out! |

Z-Men #3
Feb 23, 2016 |
The art does a great job of lending to the grounded, even classic, feel of the comic. Being set in the 60's, the art's extravagance might feel out of place, but Kurt Tiede's drawings definitely compliment the story while failing to distract from the characters and plot. Readers might want more visual stimuli in this comic, but the blood and gore is sure to increase in the coming issues. Z-MENissue #3 is a great escalation of this story and proves that when it comes to Double Take, the best is yet to come. |
