Wolverine (2003) #72 |
Jun 6, 2009 |
I consider this issue to be the best of the Old Man Logan so far. While I do not believe to be on par with other future storylines like The Dark Knight Returns or Future Imperfect, Millar has delivered a story that will be remember as one of Wolverines classics. |

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 #21 |
Jan 14, 2009 |
The issue ends with Harmony being interviewed on TV with the host talking about Slayers and what they are. As it turns out, the death of a Slayer was very popular and that is going to be the new focus of Harmonys show. I was left with dumb founded. What just happened? Why is the world so accepting of vampires? How did Harmony get out of Los Angeles at the end of Angel? These and countless other questions are brought up at the end of this issue. Not only is this the worst of the Buffy comics to come out so far, it the worst canonical story ever told within the Buffyverse. |

Angel: After the Fall #15 |
Dec 28, 2008 |
The final thing that needs to be discussed is, of course, the death. The character is given a very Whedonesque death, except that this time the character is allowed to have his dying words. While I have personally been a fan of this character since his debut, it seems that many have only recently accepted him. He will be greatly missed, and the final panel of this issue is arguably the most fantastic of the series. As I am being forced to bid farewell to this character, I have to say that I am more than excited to read the penultimate issue of After the Fall. I would rate this issue as the best and most painful of the series so far as fans have to once more say goodbye to one of the family. |

Angel: After the Fall #9 |
Jun 19, 2008 |
For those who have not been reading this series so far, this is a good jumping on place as it begins a new story arc. The only thing that was missed from this issue was having the big cliffhanger ending, but some of the information that was let out still adds a lot of anticipation to see what Whedon and Lynch have coming next. Buy this comic. |

Wolverine: First Class #1 |
Apr 4, 2008 |
While this first issue was not executed in the best manor, this series does have potential. Van Lente sets up some interesting character points; they just do not all come together in the end. This series could become an entertaining read, but it appears that it may take a few issues to hit its stride. |

Young X-Men #1 |
Apr 4, 2008 |
Young X-men is set up to be a very promising title. There are many unanswered questions, but the first issue is ultimately organized in such a way that there will not need to be a lot of wasted dialogue dealing with exhibition in future issues. I recommend picking this issue up as it appears that Guggenheim is helping to establish the future of the X-men. |
