In part two of the DREDD movie-inspired series, in the neglected sector of Mega-City One known as The Spit, tensions are reaching boiling point amongst the citizens as the shiny new mega-block Oemling Tower is being constructed for those that can afford to live in it. As the Judges face running battles with rioters, the underground movement known as Uprise stokes the flames of dissent. Written by Arthur Wyatt (Dredd: Underbelly) with art from Paul Davidson (X-Men Legacy). This issue also includes a bonus Judge Dredd strip by Rob Williams (The Royals) and RM Guera (Scalped)! Available in print from all good comic book stores, and digitally fromore
Dredd Uprise 2 gives us one last glimpse of the recent films mega city one and it's Dredd, it is a fun plot with plenty twists and turns that will leave any fan satisfied. Whilst I think the overall story could have benefited from being a little longer to allow it play out and build the supporting cast a little more, it remains a fun ride and a great addition to the Dredd (movie) canon. I dont usually like movie tie-ins, but this was really good. The art was great and it had a solid Dredd-verse feel. It didnt really tie to the movie at all, but was still good. The backup was worth the price of admission as well.
A pretty decent conclusion to Uprise, and the backup story is freakin' awesome even though it is probably not the movie universe.
