Overall, this issue may be a pit stop in the larger narrative that Moore is creating, but I went into this issue knowing that he plays the long game. Moore meticulously moves the story forward while subtly dropping at least one new plot point that should inevitably pay off. He also manages to take many different elements and mesh them together well to create a book that is simultaneously creepy, humorous, and at times heartfelt. Rachel Rising is a book that likes to take it's time. Rather than dive right into the shocking occurrences of last issue, Terry Moore instead glosses over them, focusing instead on the malicious force currently body hopping around town. In conclusion, this is an ok issue. There is nothing really wrong with this issue there just needs to be more. What we get in the issue however, is good and sets up at least one future storyline that shows promise. The character of Zoe continues to show good progress as with a lot of other characters but it is the mystery that is lacking in improvement. Hopefully, we find out what is going on soon!
