Things go from bad to worse for Naledi as she and Kaelo arrive at Serepa - a stronghold built on one of the last remaining pieces of arable land left in Southern Africa. Serepa is owned by a ruthless warlord named Shandu, and he will do whatever it takes to hold on to power in this dying world. Even if that means performing human sacrifices.

Land of the Living Gods offers up a lot of solid material here with the familiar structure and design to it. I'm really enjoying the locations and characters and the trappings being brought into it as it does shake up the familiar nicely and it has me looking forward to what more is coming. I'm admittedly a bit frustrated by the language elements as I'd rather not have translations on page when there are as many as there are here and when they can be figured out by context, as I think a glossary would work better. I do like the commitment to the language though and it's definitely a good part of the appeal. Naledi's story of her mother in this issue is intriguing as is seeing the dynamic with Shadu and those in his realm as he rules Serepa. Things are getting ready to move to the next phase quickly here. Read Full Review

Well worth the price of admission for the world building alone, theres an engaging story in here that will no doubt have many following along with Naledi on their quest. Read Full Review
