While this was an entertaining comic book, I hope writer Vita Ayala dives deeper into what the cause of this outbreak is and the struggle to find a cure. This, to me, seems like a real opportunity to make the story unique instead of focusing on frivolous friction between factions of survivors. 'The Wilds' continues to evolve as a complicated human drama amid an outbreak of terror. Ayala tightens the tension around the protagonists leading to some unexpected twists. Pearson and Louise give us the dichotomy of a gorgeously rendered world fraught with danger and distrust. Well-done setup to conflict, with art that makes the end times look actually pretty. But this is still a very tentative story, and I know that the talent here can push creative boundaries further. Hopefully that's coming. Read Full Review
