"Adventure Time 2013 Spooktacular" is an unusually strong anthology and is worth a read by any comics fan, but will be particularly fun for readers who want kid-friendly spooky Halloween stories that will also thrill adults. Read Full Review

There's not really any "bad stories" here, but Frazer Irving's "Secret Stache" didn't give a Halloween vibe as the rest of them. Not saying it's bad, just not as consistent. "Costume Party" by Jones Wiedle and "Bad Girl Gone Good" by Kevin Church and Jen Vaughn were equally delightful in this fun but not too scary anthology. Read Full Review

If you're new to the cartoon series, you may find yourself a bit stranded in the world of Ooo, but not entirely lost. Because these stories were written for a very young target audience, they're easy to follow, but you have to be open to the idea of reading a children's cartoon plastered in the pages of a comic. It's cool to see a mixed bag of styles and stories, but for the most part the book was kind of tedious and felt more like a publishing afterthought than creative fun. For a book set in a fantasy world where anything can happen, no story took it any place interesting, and I ended up more engaged by the short preview comic in the back promoting the upcoming Osamu Tezuka inspired toon 'Steven Universe'. There's plenty of great Halloween content out there this year, but this round the 'Adventure Time' comic fell a little short. Read Full Review
