Tournament day! Up against their rival the Kettle Balls, the Jazz Pandas are struggling to stay alive in the competition. Sometimes, though, the worst curveballs aren't the ones literally flying at your face.
This series continues to entertain and who'd have thought that a comic about dodge ball would be so good? The creative team has done a solid job of bringing the aesthetic of sports manga to a western audience mixing the two worlds together to create a product that's fun and entertaining. Dodge City #3 is progressing the story steadily while being more enjoyable than the last one due to the upped stakes. There are fewer flashbacks and relaxed dialogue, but there is still plenty of emotional tension and individual expression occurring. The art is still as bright and adorable as ever. It isn't groundbreaking, but it matches the tone and story very well. Hopefully, the next issue keeps the ante rising and the emotional tension balanced with some action because that is where the characters really shine and seem their most vulnerable, yet powerful.
