Blavatsky's rebirth is one of the most repellent things that either Mignola or Golden ever conceived. Mignola's work is well known, but Golden may be unfamiliar to comic book readers. Golden wrote Vampirella and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So, he knows his way around horrific imagery. Artists Ben Stenbeck and Dave "Deep Red" Stewart underscore the terror with suspenseful graphics that twist the miraculous, living, evolving being into a grotesque example of body perversion. Baltimore is classic Mignola, and has the added advantage of being slightly more approachable than the years of continuity behind both Hellboy and B.P.R.D. I'm always happy to get my hands on this series, and the creative team seems to be raising their game every issue. Read Full Review
When we left the steadfast tin soldier Baltimore and the journalist Simon Hodge in issue #2, they were standing on the walls of the Abbey about to be swamped in a horde of vampire nuns.
