Drew Goddard (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Alias, Lost, Cloverfield) continues his story arc "Wolves at the Gate", which has Buffy and the gang fighting a team of Uber vamps in Tokyo. In order to better understand their mysterious new foes, Xander must recruit an old ally to join in their cause to defeat this new danger.
This issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, despite containing nothing newsworthy, still exemplifies writing and visual storytelling at its very best. Read Full Review
Dracula, cheated by the Japanese vampires in a poker game, realizes that he's lost his “secret powers”, so he decides to help Buffy. And the cliffhanger we get is just dreadful. Looks like there's going to be a slayer massacre. Not good, but at least it'll be a hell of a challenge for Buffy and company. I'll be there to read it. Read Full Review
It is easy to cry and moan over some of the recent revelations in Buffy Season Eight. Not only easy, but fair. But whether one agrees with these events or not, it's hard to argue the constant improvements the title has managed over the last few story arcs. Again, the series is beginning to feel continuously more authentic, and shouldn't be missed by any fan of the Whedonverse. Read Full Review
The resolution to this arc should be good with a pissed off Dracula and the Slayer troops hunting down the vamp gang in an effort to retrieve Buffys scythe. Like I said, this is not a bad comic, but it also feels light in content and its not as good as previous installments of this great series. Read Full Review
