The bizarre mysteries that Lori has stumbled upon get more twisted as she's led deeper into the confounding truth. But she might not be able to trust anyone, and more than one mysterious power wants her on their side. Meanwhile, the darkness of the Everything store is spreading to Rick, Eberhard and all of Holland, Michigan . . . and it's getting more sinister by the second.
I still like it though, Christopher Cantwell seems to try draw a clear line in the sand, by drawing a comparison to the employees of the Everything store, who display signs of fascism, military rule, and by featuring bombastic displays of extreme citizenry that are intensely xenophobic and propagandist with a dash of the Stepford Wives, but even more interesting is that even though it's clear that he satirizes these concepts but he muddies the water humanizing some of the employees by displaying their empathy for the citizen of Holland. The rest of the story continues to crawl at a snail's pace, but there's still just enough of a mystery to keep the reader trudging through the palpable sense of dread. Read Full Review
With basically every mystery still being very mysterious and only one issue left... and with sales numbers, which don't necessarily warrant a second "season"... is this once-promising series up for a serious nosedive?
