    Comic Watch - Ryan White

This issue moved fast, and I think it could have benefited from having one or two more pages of content. I am sure they will wrap things up well in issue two, but sometimes leaving so much meat on the bones still leaves you hungry, and that is not a good thing all the time. I don’t need to be full, but I would like to be content. Maybe not one piece of fish but two will get the job done. I will check out the next issue because I want to know why Hellboy is so clueless and what the deal is with the young lady who seems to be an enemy, but I don’t think that is the play they are going with personally. AIPT - David Brooke

Hellboy in Hell: Nothing but Blood #1 makes its return to Hell worthwhile thanks largely to Cyrille Pomès's distinctive artwork and lettering. The plot is relatively straightforward, and its central mystery isn't especially difficult to unravel, but the strange environments and increasingly supernatural encounters give Hellboy plenty to contend with. For readers who've missed seeing Hellboy wander the underworld, this is a visually impressive return. Read Full Review

    Plot
This story is set within the Hellboy in Hell saga, where Hellboy—despite already being dead—must survive the perils lurking in this realm.

A mysterious woman cries out for help while under attack by demons; Hellboy comes to her aid, only for her to suddenly kill one of the demons in cold blood—revealing she is not quite as helpless as she seemed.

She invites Hellboy for a drink at an abandoned house, where an old woman warns him that his companion is actually an evil being. The demons had fled because they were terrified of Hellboy; seeing this fear, their own slaves had turned on them and were slaughtering them. It is at this moment that the seemingly vulnerable woman reveals her true monstrous nature.
