I'm pumped for this series and I like the fact that the creators have kept it to just three issues again. This zero issue is very successful in catching you up in time for the second volume, but also getting you excited for the series as well. I think it's going to be as good as or better than the last series and that's saying a lot. Even if you read the DHP issues you should check it out as a complete read, it's definitely worth it. I had to ask myself: if you were an alien would it be easier assimilating into a small town? Or would it actually be easier to blend in and disappear in a city of tens or hundreds-of-thousands? I don't know what the answer is and I guess it ultimately doesn't matter, but I found myself asking questions like that while reading the issue – its patient pace allowing me to stop and wonder as I rediscovered the world and art of “Resident Alien.” The story doesn't grip you with any details on the mystery yet. It would have been nice to give some context for what ultimately lies ahead in this miniseries, but taking its time to reintroduce you (or introduce new readers) isn't a bad move either. As such, issue #0 was a pleasant, slow dip back into the hot tub. But it isn't until the end that Harry perks up at the prospect of a new case: “…the game's afoot,” he thinks. It’s hard to find a good comic mini series these days, much less one involving an alien and a clever who dunnit, but if you look hard enough you might find a gem in the Resident Alien series. Read Full Review
About the only thing that's missing in "Resident Alien: The Suicide Blonde" #0 is the actual start of the latest murder case, which is of course what's waiting for us next month with issue #1. Add that into the mix and you've got everything that makes "Resident Alien" so much fun. If you haven't read this series before, this is a perfect place to give it a whirl. Read Full Review

The plot of the story is afoot by the end of the comic, and it piques the interest to read the next one, which is a good sign at the end of any book. If you were a fan of the last 4 issue run, you're going to get this regardless of the review. If you haven't read the previous series, some of the story will be lost on you, but it's still a good read. I suggest grabbing it, and while you're at your local neighborhood comic shop, ask about if they have the last run sitting in long box somewhere, and grab those as well. Read Full Review
As I mentioned above there is a place in the world for zero issues, they can be a solid way to wheel your audience to the world you created without having to hit the ground running on story or to give us insight into your characters and motivations before seeing them thrown into a situation. Resident Alien Suicide Blonde however does neither of these things; it rests on its Loral's fumbling about just trying to fill the space till the real issue #1 gets here. For new readers this issue is confusing and off putting to the concept and for old fans coming back the lack of story or progression leaves the issue flat, not recommended. Read Full Review
