Agents of the Empire truly is a James Bond story set in Star Wars. Ostrander has created an interesting character with Cross but how will Cross be affected by the events of this shocking ending? This is really unexplored territory for Star Wars and I would rate it as a creative success. If you like your Han and Chewie stories or you like a caper in the vein of James Bond then this is something to pick up. Read Full Review
Ostrander has created a character that has room to breath since he is not hindered to movie continuity. Stephanie Roux's artwork flourishes during the battle scenes and one panel in particular when the Millennium Falcon swoops in for the rescue. Read Full Review
Cross may be an agent of the Empire, but this series has built him up into an enjoyable character. He's no Han Solo or Luke Skywalker, mind you, but his adventures can therefore be more open. All the same, it just doesn't feel right to cheer for a character so tightly bound to the galaxy-crushing boot of the Emperor. This likely isn't the last we'll see of Cross as Dark Horse clearly has future plans for the character based on the final panel of "Star Wars: Agent of the Empire -- Iron Eclipse" #5; I just hope John Ostrander is included in those plans. If he wants to bring along Han Solo again, that'd be even better. Read Full Review
