The Massive presents a bit of a quandary to me. On the one hand, I appreciate the excellence of writing and art, but on the other, I was never able to quite connect with it emotionally other than the first trade. It could be that this is a series that reads better as a whole than in single issues, or it could be that it just doesn't resonate with me. Either way, it's still a fine comic and this is a worthy resolution to it. Recommended. Read Full Review
Like the endings of many series, The Massive #30 is bittersweet. The world is destroyed, the ship is out in the middle of nowhere, and the path ahead is unknown. However, through Brian Woods deep characterization and Brown and Bellaires influential artwork, were given a story that gives readers confidence that their next adventures will be full of excitement and wonder. As a conclusion, issue 30 makes every struggle, every painful moment of this series feel significant and necessary to help create the beautiful world that lays ahead. The notion that we or the world we live upon will be given a second chance through supernatural forces is a fantasy. We do possess the same thing the crew members of The Massive do though. We possess a future. Its up to us what we will do with it. Read Full Review
