Sure that an ancient tome, the Occido Lumen, holds the secret to defeating the Master, Fet and Setrakian head to the auction house for a different kind of battle. Meanwhile, Eph, sure of a conspiracy surrounding the vampire epidemic, mounts a secret mission to assassinate the wealthy and ailing Eldritch Palmer!
The Strain is well worth the read and if the television production can utilize the same elements of the graphic novelization (i.e. creepy visuals with lots of dark and brutal surroundings, deep pale faces, ultimate evil depictions, strong characterizations, etc.), then it should be a runaway hit. Overall, this is a good book. It has its hiccups that stop it from being a phenomenal story, but you should definitely give this book a read, or two since you probably won't know what is happening the first time you read it. The art is detailed and the story does have its moments of greatness. The Strain – The Fall #5 is a Dark Horse comic that is currently available at your local comic book store as well as through digital distribution. You can check out The Fall #6 in December 18. It's entirely possible that I'm just experiencing The Strain: The Fall in the wrong context and that looking back on this series as a trade paper back or in its original novel format I'll actually have a greater fondness for it, but as is this really doesn't seem to be working as a monthly series.
