Overall, this comic was a very mixed bag. As a Batman fan I will read it in the future, but if you are a new reader I promise that the comic is better than this. I've mentioned before, but the first four pages are the best in the last two issues of the comic. If you started reading this arc last issue, then please continue just to see where this crazy ride goes. You can check out Batman and Two-Face #25 at your local comic book store as well as through digital distribution. It is published by DC comics. You can also check out the next issue which should be available December 18, 2013. |

Overall, there are still plenty of problems with the comic, yet it is an improvement over the last two issues. At the pace it is going it may have a satisfying ending. This reviewer may not be able to recommend this to new readers, if you are currently reading this storyline then pick it up as there is some information you will need, though be aware that the plot doesn't move forward at all. Overall, you should check this book out if you are a fan of Batman, or want to finish this arc. For new readers, I would say to skip this, and the Clayface arc as a whole, as there are some problems with the writing. The art is great, but it isn't recommended to buy it for that reason alone. From what the solicitations have said, next months looks like it is going to be a great one. |

Detective Comics (2011) #26
Dec 4, 2013 |
This is probably the best art that has been done for the new 52 Detective Comics. Aaron Lopresti did a great job drawing our ‘Bats' the best way that suits him well. He is an imposing figure in the comic and you get just how much of a presence he has in a room, even with it is an holographic projection. That's the Batman we know, and that is the Batman we have fallen in love with many years ago. The Man-Bat is a very scary character on paper, and Lopresti's interpretation of the character makes it just as scary. The same can be said for the ‘Bat-Queen' that appears at the end of it. This is a dark world that is created and it fits the tone of the overall story quite nicely. |

Overall, this was a disappointing read. This reviewer read it five times, and still has no idea what is going on in the book. If they were to change anything now, it would be that they need to make the plot coherent, it is not too late, they need to get to the story they want to tell now before readers drop off. The art needs consistency from page to page, and they may need to not throw a lot at the readers at once, let things breathe. I could say the pacing is fast, but it is so fast that you can't understand what is going. |

Overall, it is a good story with bad art. My rating system is based on 5 points for story, and 5 points for art. I give the story a 4 and the art a 1.3. This was, overall, a satisfying ending to a great arc. The problem with the epilogue can just be regarded as a nitpick as it doesn't affect the story, whereas the look of the ghosts and the possessed is troubling. This, and the four issues before it, are must buy for comic fans, as well as fans of horror. The art in the book is great too. Everything feels lived in. There is an old dreary look to it that gives it that lived in look just mentioned, as well as a retro feel that is very much welcomed. The shadowing they use to add depth is very soft, but that works as it gives nice subtle detail. It gives everyone a soft look. |

Judge Dredd #12
Oct 25, 2013 |
Overall it was an unsatisfying issue. Dredd is a highly intriguing character that deserves better writing than what is here. This could've been spread out into two whole issues to flesh everything out more. We aren't given much in terms of what this ooze wants. There is no issue when the plot rolls by quickly, but when it is at times incoherent spread it out a little. It's okay to tell three stories in two issues, if it's worth telling. The visuals are good in this book, as there are differences in the barren wasteland and Mega-City One. There is a good distinction between all of the characters and it's a nice touch. Nelson Daniel's art is the saving grace for this issue. |

Overall, this is a major improvement for the Judge Dredd comic and seems to be going into a good direction. This is a good starting point for new readers as the events of the last two story lines aren't discussed, and if anything, get a small mention. There are a few issues with the story, yet it could just add to the paranoia of Dredd, and the back-up story has some serious padding issues. The art is better than it was previously and many will be happy to check it out. |

Kiss Me, Satan #5
Jan 16, 2014 |
As far as the art is concerned, it is some of the best detailed of the series. You really get the sense that the artist truly took his time in crafting a stellar book to look at. The best moment of the book is in the art when Barnubus' true form is unleashed. It is a magnificent looking creature that has full detail and you can still see some of the features that are in Barnabus. The action scenes are staged perfectly and they show just enough to let the readers know that some serious damage is being done in the mansion. Some may have problems with the way some of the key action scenes look as they show close-ups of some of the carnage mixed in with the wide shot, but it served it's purpose and this reviewer thinks it looked magnificent. |

Overall, this issue was a letdown. It works as filler for the overall story line, but there is nothing interesting going on in the story. Even the art is a letdown. The art by Ryan Kelly has generally been good for this series. He seems to be a writer that loves to fill the panel with as much as he can without it looking like a mess. He succeeds at this, for the most part. The detail in some of the work is extraordinary and you can tell that this is a dark world that the characters do indeed live in. The night scenes at the end give off a very haunting aura that has to be the best art in the series to date. |

The art is done by different artists each week, which leads to many inconsistencies between the look of the comic issue to issue. The look of Carlyle and the backdrop of Rio de Janeiro are almost exactly the same dull shade of orange. A highlight of the art has to be Carlyle's flashback scenes. The images are stark black and white except for certain items which are a shade of orange. It is visually striking. When the action finally starts some of it feels rushed. It looks choppy and distracts you. |
