Part One of Three - A Great Jumping-on Point! Nezumi the thief has been at large for too long, robbing the rich and sharing with the poor, thereby winning the love of the townsfolk. However, Nezumi suddenly finds himself in need of Ishida and Usagi when the leader of the town marks him for death and the master thief becomes the victim of injustice.
An excellent beginning to a three part story that introduces a criminal who shows himself to be more than just a thief. The art is gorgeous, with strong characters and to-die-for settings. This is a great starting point for those new to the character. Read Full Review
That aside, Usagi Yojimbo continues its legacy of fun and exciting action with the samurai genre, creating a great read, Usagi is a great character, and this plot is already promising to have some good twists and turns. Its a good story, and it earns a recommendation. Read Full Review

The start of a fine, if familiar, story about a robin hood type thief framed for murder by a leader of the local mafia-style gang. I thought the art was especially rough and thrown together. It looks like the storyboard and Sakai didn't have enough time to tighten it up before inking.
