After Hawkman and hawkwoman had no choice but to use the "Overlord" hyperdirve to force the Thanagarian Fleet to spread randomly around the universe millions of miles away from Earth, Superman was left in space alone. Close to death, one of the Green Lanterns out on a new planet search for Therils named Arisia finds Superman floating in space. She brings him to the Earth core Lanterns.

Hal, Kilawog, and others are there ready to greet Superman from his space slumber.

After figuring out what happened with the Hawks, and seeing how Earth was safe from the invasion, they catch a new threat heading toward Earth. A giant planet-sized thing that has natural huge anti-bodies that attack. Its not a living being but turns out to be remnants of the supernatural phenomena Superman fought alongside the Phantom Stranger a few issues back.

The left over residue formed bacteria from the sun creating random life. Unable to move this now larger mass, the Green Lanterns attempt to push back, needing more Willpower Superman combines his will with theirs giving them the power to push the mass into deep space. The conditions of deep space covnverted the once deadly mass into a perfect planet for the endangered alien race of worms called Therils.
