Originally I only intended picking up Batman Confidential to marvel at the artwork, assuming Garcia-Lopez and Nowlan were up to snuff. I'm actually looking forward to the next chapter in the story as well. Read Full Review
The art here is a really nice change of pace to what I had been dealing with in Journey Into Knight. It just feels like comic book art. It's solid, won't blow you away or anything but everything is very well conveyed. The story is interesting. It could honestly fit anywhere in Batman's chronology post first encounter with the Riddler. Like the art, the story is solid. Nothing crazy cool but nothing boring in the slightest. Feels like a regular episode of Batman the Animated Series which I honestly think most Batman titles should aspire to. Not everything has to have a massive arc. Villains of the week can still be engaging if you make them as such. Writing compelling stories can happen in one issue or twelve. With this being a three issue amore
