It's August, which means no holidays! But Alfred thinks Bruce could use a break, so he sends The Dark Knight on a strange and wonderful trip: a vacation! And while the Bat's away, the villains come out to play, and the rest of the family has a hot time in Gotham City!
This issue was a nice, cute little adventure in paradise with pirates in it. Needless to say I was pretty satisfied with it. Now I find myself checking my calendar for the next holiday so I can see when another issue of Li'l Gotham comes out. It'll be a long wait for the physical issue but remember that it comes out digitally first, if you really can't wait to buy the next paper issue you can always get it digitally first (also it saves trees, and Damian wants you to save trees because that's where cute animals live). Not long after the fun of watching Alfred convince Bruce to take a vacation, the comic quickly goes off the rails and then the pirate-filled holiday is followed by what can only be described as character overload. The artwork is still as lovely as ever and there are some cute jokes as well, but both stories collected here are a mess, an entertaining mess but still a mess. Issue #8 is a fun read for the kids, but I don't think it's as rewarding for adults as previous installments have been. Read Full Review
