Batman Streets of Gotham #8 was a good story for a filler arc. For those looking to get a continuation of the Zsasz storyline you will be disappointed by this issue as Dini again steps aside for another writer to write a different story. For his credit Benson did the best he could but at no point in the issue was he able to shake of the filler feel to the story. Still this issue, as well as the next issue, is not mandatory issues that you have to pick. So if you are waiting for the start of the conclusion of the Zsasz storyline I recommend passing on this two-part story and picking this series back up again in March when that story starts back up again, hopefully. Eh. I was enjoying the Zsasz storyline, so I've got to say I'm a tad bit disappointed that nothing occurred in this issue to further that story. This issue was OK, but it's obviously a stock, filler issue to be used when the regular writer of a series is unavailable. I'll be looking forward to issue #10 when we get back to the Zsasz storyline. As for this comic, it was perfectly acceptable, nothing more, nothing less. Read Full Review

I have no doubt that the Dini penned Streets of Gotham #8, as originally planned, would have been better than this one, but theres still some value to be had in this issue. That said, Mike Bensons fill-in job certainly isnt spectacular enough to overcome the readers potential disappointment over the comic he or she thought would be coming out this week. The Weekly Crisis - Ryan Schrodt Jan 22, 2010

The fact that this isn't an Avoid It book and didn't pull in a Burrito Book dishonor is really a testament to the strength of the backup story. Essentially, if you pick this up, you are paying $4 for the short Manhunter story and, while it is a great story, its hard to justify that! Read Full Review
