Batwoman #8 focuses the series to a degree unseen in previous issues. Killer Croc may look a little dopey here, but he's really a fleck on the skillfully executed artwork provided by Amy Reeder. The plot develops significantly here, and those developments are compelling. However, the flashbacks are not stitched together in the smoothest fashion possible. If the collaboration between Reeder and her writers, W. Haden Blackman and J.H. Williams III continues the way it has, this title's plot points should be hurtling along at breakneck speed when Reeder's first turn on Batwoman ends. Read Full Review

Alright, I'm really not going to even spend a whole lot of time on this review, as it's pretty identical to my last two. The story here is good. I like it. Not as much as the first arc, but whatever, it's a fun story. The delivery is not. I'm starting to really resent it, and can't fathom how it's supposed to go on for three more issues. This non linear device just isn't working for me, for the third time. I liked Amy Reeder's art here, but a little of it looked a bit rough here and there. Oh well. Read Full Review

Much like the narrative, the art is inconsistent and this leads to yet another underwhelming issue. Whereas some moments entertain, they feel few and far between. The book has seemingly lost its identity it had crafted in those first few issues and this has a knock on effect with the readers investment in this new story. It seemingly has no stakes as Batwoman manages to get out of trouble so easily here. Add to the fact that the antagonists are a little ludicrous and the issue falls flat. The only hope moving forward is that this storyline doesn't last long and Reeder will hopefully move onto a book that suits her style. Read Full Review

It'sdisorganized, many of the side stories you jump to feel unrelated, and there just doesn't seem to be a point. Even if you're a big fan of Batwoman, I would suggest waiting for the trade. Maybe then this will all make sense and not be such a chore to read. Read Full Review
