Despite these complaints, I really did enjoy the issue. It was fun and entertained me from start to finish and that's all that matters to me in a comic book. Dinah actually acted like a team leader for a change, assigning teams and roles, and it made me kind of wonder when this takes place in relation to her wedding since Ollie was here as well. Overall McDuffies off to a strong start. This could shape up to be a classic yet modern comic book battle between two groups of very powerful beings. I just really hope that McDuffie doesnt put all his eggs in one basket and have a huge battle where one side wins. His run, as well as the arc featuring these groups, should play out like an action packed chess match. Read Full Review
Justice League of America #13 was a fun read that put a smile on my face once I was finished. Do I still think that this title is one of DC's premier titles like it was when Meltzer was the writer? No. It isn't up there anymore with DC's other top flight titles like Green Lantern and Justice Society of America. However, McDuffie's Justice League of America is a solid second tier title and still delivers an entertaining read. Read Full Review
Joe Benitez doesn't help matters much. The artist clearly has a love for Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo's work, but draws too heavily, bringing their flaws along for the ride. Characters change proportions from page to page and there's not much energy in any panel. John Stewart is probably the most noticeable of these - you'd swear he was the Hulk. All in all, "Unlimited" doesn't quite live up to its potential. There are still plenty of entertaining moments however, particularly between JLA teammates. Read Full Review
Since I started it, I suppose Ill stick with the series to the end of the current Injustice Gang arc. However, I doubt Ill continue buying it after that unless something really impresses me over the next few issues. Read Full Review
The covers the right idea, though, answering this series debut a year later with a parade of villains rather than heroes. If this title had a problem under Meltzer, it was in finding a consistent foe to aim the heroes at; they were distracted by guest stars, and the pace was very leisurely. This issue is quite lively, but we need a greater sense of drama and more realistic visuals to up the stakes. Read Full Review
