Not only was this a fantastic issue art-wise still, but it was really funny too! Supergirl talking to Wally at his grandmother's funeral because she is trying to figure out if he is God or not. Wally has a sense of humor when Supergirl is asking him queestions. Asking for proof he goes on to rebut by saying what miracle can I show that will convince anyone when we live in a world with Martian Manhunter, Weather Wizard, Aquaman, Superman, etc. That believing in God requires faith and free will. Wally never proves that he is God to anyone in the comic but in this ish and last ish he proves it to us the reader.
Wally also tells Supergirl that she is an Earthborn Angel, telling her to look it up at the library not telling us anymore about it.
Last ish when his grandmother died in the hospital his grandfather grew angry with Wally claiming to be God and in his grief demanded Wally bring grandma back to life if he is God. He chased Wally to the baby nursery. Wally pointed toward a baby and said he did bring her back.
Also while at the funeral Wally gave Noah his grandpa a vision dancing with his now deceased wife in the 20s when she was a flapper, thus again proving to us the reader that Wally is God showing himself in subtle ways like this.
We also get a goofy guy by the name Seersucker who tries to get vengeance against his boss, the company he worked for has a statue of Atlas holding the world, a cool reference to Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. When Seersucker puts on his suit powered by a white dwarf star it goes crazy, Supergirl having to try to save him. Not fast enough Comet comes back and reveals himself in human form to save Seer. He runs off though again.
The panel work is really amazing, even from the first page that really pops out the mundane moment of Supergirl trying to be around people when there is time of peace so they don;t attribute her to only battles.
Oh yeah Mattie and Cutter bang but don't remember how they ended up banging eachother so that was funny too... more
