2 points off for having no more Twilight and having her be gone for good without any satisfying conclusion, and having a random giant named Cerne walking through the ocean and Supergirl trying to stop him. Like what??

As for the rest, Comet talks to Supergirl in her mind when she is drowning after being hurled out from Cerne's mouth, telling her they are connected without explaining how or why. Peter David is really building up Comet and his place in the story here.

The best part however is how Linda's father Frank tells her how her mother Sylvia was an alcoholic when they met. That Frank even broke up with Sylvia over it only to get back together when she found out she was pregnant with Linda not believing in abortion. This motivated Sylvia to cold turkey with the support of Frank, Linda being her literal "lifeline". This created a new devotion in the woman believing this was all God's purpose to give her a meaningful life.

So when she found out Linda was merged with Mae, unlike Frank who has now accepted his daughter's new identity, Sylvia fell back to the bottle after all these years believing she lost Linda. Being in the hospital unconscious from L-Ron throwing her around while in her car, we are not sure if she will wake up yet.

David's mastery on the human condition is unquestioning, I love how he is unafraid to touch religious, spiritual themes in the way he does. Many writers seem afraid to do this these days, so it is refreshing to read a comic that is unafraid to touch these spiritual themes. more
