Barbarella is a fun and thoroughly retro experience, from its storyline to its visuals. The series isnt afraid to acknowledge that titillation was part of the experience. At the same time, Northcott and her artistic collaborators know how to balance it. This issue does lack some of the action and media commentary as it rushes to finish the story. Nevertheless, Barbarella #5 is a fun experience and a great way to end the series. Read Full Review
And then theres the whole Mojo thing. Anne Nocenti and Chis Claremont had done stories involving an intergalactic villain who made dangerous movies involving superheroes in deathtraps and such and...those stories didnt really live-up to the genius of Nocentis ideas either, which is really too bad. The basic idea really IS a lot of fun. Barbarella would be a fun character to send through murderous action films set-up by some crazy lunatic with a bottomless budget, but it would take a much more savvy script to be able to embrace the potential.
