I'm definitely digging The End series here with the two issues that we have and am really hopeful that it continues to strike out into new territory as it progresses compared to the past works. The story is slowly coming together and we're getting a decent feel for both John and Dejah at this point in their lives and the ramifications of their choices. The real winner for me continues to be Hayden Sherman's artwork, however, as it's just so spot on perfect for this that I'm hopeful we'll see some fascinating new and original works with some top tier writers in the next few years from him and has me going off to find his other work with The Few. It's taking all the right nods to strong storytelling combined with his own unique style and approach that's completely elevating this story. It's a solid book overall made great by some fantastic artwork. Read Full Review

Sometimes taking on a beloved property and making it your own can be a bit hit or miss. Make no mistake though, the direction in which Alex Cox and Brian Wood are steering this chapter of the John Carter story is definite “hit” territory in my view. There is a sense of finality (the clue is in the title), but the story is coming from a fresh and new angle that is utterly compelling. Yes, John and Dejah may be out of time having been away from Mars for 300 years, but even in all that time it seems like some things just don't change. John Carter, Jeddak of Jeddaks, Warlord of Mars, is back. He has a hopeless fight to fight, and he's all out of bubblegum. Read Full Review

John Carter The End #2 is gaining steam as a nice mini-series in the "John Carter universe". With Brian Wood and Alex Cox driving a more emotional story by driving a wedge between Dejah and Carter and building the stakes with the possible extinction of Mars native race. Sherman's art styling brings the brutal action to life but lacks some finer details to fully engulf the story Read Full Review

Bits and Pieces:If you were hoping you'd get more story in this issue you'll be disappointed. We're given the same minimalistic dialogue stretched out. It feels like the story has moved an inch since last month. The art is very enjoyable to look at, though! Read Full Review
