Tarzan finds himself the prey in a jungle hunt led by a blowhard Yankee mogul named Sykes. Several bodies and a series of mind games later, Sykes' plan unfolds: bring the captive ape-man to New York City for the Match of the Century against undefeated master of the fighting arts, Starker the Suplative!
Lets get into the nitty gritty, Sergio Fernandez Davilas art style, I can't say is overly impressive. He brings a classic cartoony animation that I would associate with most average artists in comics. Im not saying it was bad, it certainly suited that story, it just wasnt anything to call home about. Aside from that, Santosh Kumar Raths colouring helps to kick things up with lots of bright colours in the outdoor atmosphere, and a darkened element as the situation changes from one of happy freedom to captivity. After an anti-climatic fight, followed by a rather easy escape, and denouement, Tarzan is shipped back to the jungle in a meaningless story. Dynamite didn't have to revive THAT part of the annual. Read Full Review
It's hard to root for Tarzan when one minute he's scolding his captor for hunting and the next he's ruthlessly tearing the throat out of a man whose fighting to save his family. That being said, the violence was pretty exciting and the art serviced the gore well although there is a heavy-handed use of computer modeling that lends a slight cartoonish feel to the whole thing. Should you long for the days of the classic jungle serials then this is right up your ally. Read Full Review
