JOURNEY TO THE NIGHTMARE PLANET!
Under the grudging tutelage of the Guardian of the Spaceways, Jonny, Hadji and Bandit are starting to get a feel for life among the stars. But their beginner’s luck is about to run out, leading to a crash landing on a decidedly unhospitable world — and an epic throwdown between Space Ghost and Dr. Nightmare!
Courageous chroniclers JOE CASEY and SEBASTIÁN PÍRIZ venture into the unknown with Space Ghost/Jonny Quest: Space Quest #3 — bravely backed up by cleverly cartographic covers from MARK SPEARS, JOSHUA MIDDLETON, DERRICK CHEW, BEN OLIVER, and CHAD HARDIN!
SPACE GHOST/JONNY QUEST: SPACE QUEST #3 is a banger of an issue that delivers on all fronts. It's got a solid plot, incredible art, and characters that shine. Joe Casey and Sebastin Priz are a dream team, making this a truly fun and engaging read. If you're looking for a comic that's both sharp and witty with plenty of action, this is the bee's knees. I have a big problem with this issue. Casey apparently has a very low opinion of Johnny Quest. The scenes with Jan, Jace, and Dr. Benton are good here, but it comes to Space Ghost and Johnny, the scenes have a lot to be desired. Space Ghost leaves them in the ship with Johnny piloting, who has no training whatsoever. Then they crash, and Space Ghost tells them to stay with the ship. They are obviously out of their depth, but they disobey and go after a villain. It had me shaking my head that anyone would act that way. He would try to save Space Ghost if he were in trouble, but it turned out to be the other way around. It just didn't work for me.
