When Calica stole the Eye of Thundera from the Sword of Omens and fled into the wilderness of Third Earth, she seems to have betrayed everyone she had come to know during her stay in the Cat's Lair. But why would she throw away such hard-won trust? What did she have to gain? And most important: Where has she been, and what has she done with the Eye?

Now, Calica will face all of these hard questions and more when she unexpectedly returns to the scene of the crime - but her answers may not be what Lion-O or any of his comrades want to hear!

Nerd Initiative - Richard Coryell Jan 29, 2025

ThunderCats #12 sets the pace for where the story is headed in 2025. Declan Shalvey establishes the tone and upcoming challenges for future issues. The way he weaves in four different threads seamlessly to form this issue is very impressive. Story building issues can be hard on arcs as they are usually filler. However, this issue excels in story building while maintaining sufficient intrigue to keep the reader engaged. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Feb 1, 2025

Shalvey is able to move forward on the story in various ways that feel like they're adding considerable depth to the story. That being said, there's a lot of mystery in and around the edges of everything that will take quite a few issues to develop at the current rate. This is a good thing, though. It gives the series plenty of room to grow. And it also allows the reader quite a bit of opportunity to engage in the world of the franchise with their own imaginations. Filling in the mysteries around the edges of Third Earth had always been so appealing when the franchise was first introduced four decades ago. Its nice to see it given further life here. Comical Opinions - Gabriel Hernandez Jan 30, 2025

THUNDERCATS #12 follows up the game-changing cliffhanger with a slice-of-life issue that's the polar opposite of engaging and exciting. Declan Shalvey picked the wrong time to present a transition issue, and Drew Moss's bland art isn't doing Shalvey's script any favors. Read Full Review
