Retro seems determined to devour itself. A 1980s cartoon franchise crosses over with an entirely different and totally unrelated 1990s franchise for something that feels potentially cross-generational but...it might NOT be. It might well be something else altogether. Its fun to see this kind of commercial experimentation, but it feels like an exercise that doesnt have a strong enough reason for existing.
