Originally debuting in 1994, Vengeance of Vampirella portrayed a more savage and feral look at the Daughter of Drakulon. Now, for the 50th Anniversary of Vampirella, original series writer Tom Sniegoski (joined by the incredible art of Michael Sta. Maria) is back and issue #1 features a host of incredible cover artists.

Not much Vampirella as this issue is setting the stage for her return. I was interested by the story, though I didn't exactly understand what was going on. I really liked every element of the visuals: art, colors, and letters. I'm definitely coming back for more to see how the title character is going to save this world from Nyx. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Oct 16, 2019

The start of this series offers up plenty of new story material for Vampirella to deal with and a chance to expand the character in some pretty fun directions. I like the basics that are put into play – even if they are a bit basic – and the artwork comes across wonderfully. I'm curious to see more of this world and Vampirella's reactions to it but also a firming up of the various sides that exist and what has happened in the years since everything went south. 'Vengeance of Vampirella' #1 feels like comfort food. A dish that warms your heart and fills your soul. The return of a badass vengeful Vampirella is just what we needed. A return to form in a fast-paced story with great world-building art that only ups the anticipation of the inevitable showdown. It's a great entry for new readers too but should bring a smile to old fans as well. This is nice way to commemorate her 50th anniversary with an earth-shattering confrontation for the ages.  Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Johnny "The Machine" Hughes Oct 2, 2019

The idea of this book is to act as part of the 50th Anniversary of the Vampirella. In someways, this book is a slice of nostalgia, wrapped in today's sensibilities. As a character who has gone through a number of reiterations, Vampi is equally as resilient as say Batman or Spider-Man. As such, the framing of the story will not matter that much to her legion of fans. Read Full Review

Doom Rocket - Lauren Fernandes Oct 3, 2019

Sniegoski and Maria have taken a long running comic with a ton of history and reopened it, and they have done it in a really warm, welcoming way. It's as if they have opened the doors to this Chaos world (a seemingly overwhelming and possibly inaccessible world to a new reader like myself) and said, "Come on in! Welcome to Vampirella! The blood is just the right temperature, and don't mind the dust. That's been settling for the last 25 years. Let's brush off this little horror story together. Join us!" Read Full Review
