Dredd is back in a clean uniform and hitting the troubled streets under the command of... a kinder, gentler Chief Justice Cal?!

We The Nerdy - Chris White May 4, 2015

I really enjoyed this issue. Duane has a great way of blending snappy dialogue with great interaction between the Judgesespecially after some truly vitriolic back-and-forth between Cal and Dredd in the last arc, there is still a great uneasiness between the two that is written in flawlessly and you feel that it could go south at any point. G.O.D. are written in well tootheir chilling revelations and unnerving sentiments resound well (There are no secrets from us) and show us they are certainly a force to be reckoned with. As for Nelsons artwork, the gritty and bleak melds beautifully with the subtle effervescence of a dystopian world and it feels as alive as ever with some really detailed and well-crafted panels being frequently featured throughout; his work will certainly be a highlight of the arc, just as it has been up until this point. Pop Culture Uncovered - Ray W Apr 28, 2015

This was great setup issue for the beginning of the Crowd Control arc which brings back Judge Dredd trying to stop a dangerous threat to the city. The characters are well written and interactions between characters are nice especially between Chief Judge Cal and Judge Dredd. For a setup issue it had a nice pace and shows that with Mega-City One there is always a dangerous foe to combat. The aftermath from the last arc is present and I wonder how this arc will play out. The art by Nelson Daniel is great with some great details to characters and a very funny scene at the beginning before the droids begin to attack. I hope Duane Swierczynski doesnt make this arc too long because the Dark Judges arc lasted a bit too long for my taste. Overall this was a good issue and I cant wait to see what happens next. Comic Bastards - James Anders II Apr 29, 2015

Altogether, I found Issue #29 to be a wonderful breath of fresh air that is the standard for the series at large. This one was well worth reading and enjoying and it was nice to see Swierczynski and Daniel back in their impressive mode making the potential for a new legion of followers for such a classic character.
