Overall, the My Little Pony Annual is a great comic. It's a must-read especially for people that saw the movie. (And if you haven't, I'd recommend doing so.) Twilight doesn't appear, which was admittedly disappointing. But it doesn't hurt the story, you get a fantastic book worthy of your $8. If you have someone, especially a younger someone, to share and teach the overall themes of this book with I recommend you grab it off the shelf. However, if you're just an exuberant pony fan you may want to wait until the annual is collected with the rest of the story that has yet to be played out. Read Full Review
Though the annual is double-sized (clocking in at 47 pages plus a slew of alternate covers) it's also a heft more than double-sized price tag, so mileage may vary on value for your dollar. For fans, this is a fun and pretty -- if insubstantial -- book; for newcomers, it's a detailed and friendly introduction to the primary characters (as Equestria Girls) of the "My Little Pony" world.
