Poor Belle. She's never spoken to Eggman in person, so it was hard for her to cope with the fact Mr. tinker is indeed gone. And she also has to come to terms with seeing her creator is as evil as she's always heard.
I'd say Evan Stanley has proven these issues that he's a qualified Sonic writer. And Ian Flynn and Ken Penders' huge lists of accomplishments are nothing easy to keep up with.
