Batman: The Adventures Continue: Season Two #1

Jun 1, 2021

A book that feels both fresh and nostalgic, not just for the cartoon it's succeeding, but also for the modern Batman tales it's bringing into its legacy.

Green Lantern (2021) #2

A good follow up that helps bring forth a big shift in status quo that feels new and promising, while also setting up plenty to keep you reading for next time.

Radiant Black #3

Apr 20, 2021

Radiant Black continues to be a book that's got my interest piqued. Indie superhero stories are a dime a dozen, and it's not easy to stand out in such a sea of talented creators putting their own spin on the genre. But what Higgins and Costa really manage to do is grab you, and make this world feel fresh and exciting. I can't wait for more to come.

A strong entry in the ongoing adventures of Sonic and friends, if a bit hard to follow for a newcomer.

Sonic The Hedgehog (2018) #38

A solid new issue in IDW's ongoing adventures of Sega's Blue Blur, giving us some new juicy character information to speculate on while we wait for the next installment.

Sonic The Hedgehog (2018) #39

May 12, 2021

You can tell the creative team wanted this issue in particular to feel like you were playing a level right out of the games, with great action and thrilling artwork all throughout. These are people who know what they're working with, and run (ha) with it. This issue is fully dedicated to the thrill ride, and I can't think of anything more Sonic than that.

Sonic The Hedgehog (2018) #40

It's everything it needed to be. A conclusion to a fun jaunt with some heartfelt character moments and good action. Only suffering from less than stellar coloring, everything else hits the mark.

A strong return to the main book for Ian Flynn, bringing with him the strong characterization and world building he's known for.

Despite some inconsistent art, the whole issue is one big fun fight scene that's a blast to read from cover to cover.

Sonic The Hedgehog (2018): 30th Anniversary Special #1

Jun 23, 2021

A wonderful and charming book exploring, at long last, the classic era of Sonic. All three stories are masterfully crafted by people who know what they're doing, and the love for Sonic radiates off the page.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #114

Feb 9, 2021

A solid issue that slowly continues the forward momentum of the story, but keeps the Turtles a bit too complacent in regards to larger issues they're a part of.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #115

Mar 17, 2021

The book zigs where it set up a zag, and sidesteps a potentially more interesting premise or internal conflict for the arc's central character. What's there works on the surface, but could easily be so much more.

While this book may be a great change of pace for some, it's started to lose some of its luster. Hopefully after this there will be more to chew on.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #117

Jun 9, 2021

An issue that hits the ground running and never stops. Confirming an openly bisexual character alone is enough to give it praise, but it goes above and beyond from there to really make it feel like we can only go up from here.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #2

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #3
