    Star Trek: Holo-Ween II #1 captures the rhythm and character dynamics of Deep Space Nine while setting up a layered supernatural mystery. Alex Segura nails the voices of the familiar cast, and the various complications give readers plenty to ponder heading into the weekly installments. Bailie Rosenlund's cartoony artwork keeps things accessible while delivering when the story calls for a more dramatic moment. The Halloween element is surprisingly light so far, but the mysteries surrounding the holodeck, communications blackout, and other strange events make this an enticing first chapter.
