Part 1: "Minutemen in Black" - In this all-new miniseries, a spaceship crashes into a separatist camp and manages to reanimate the dead as well! It's aliens vs. zombies vs. militiamen in a carnage-filled tale from the co-creator of Zombies vs Robots! And if that ain't enough, covers for this series will be by acclaimed Cerebus creator, Dave Sim!

It's a new miniseries and at just four issues, there isn't much investment on the readers part. It's well worth the time and money. I think a new reader interested in science fiction would feel right at home picking up Colonized and likely picking up the next three issues too. Read Full Review

Comic Book Therapy - Cody "The Thorverine" Ferrell Apr 10, 2013

The Colonized is a weird, crazy, smart story that will certainly surprise you. Ryall has an interesting idea, and he gives us a great introduction. It will be interesting to see how this plays out over time. The story is fun, but I'd like to see a little more before giving it a definitive grade. Read Full Review

Now this isn’t a game changer in comic books that much is clear, but it’s a lot of fun and if you just go with it I think it’s worth your time and dough. Read Full Review

Multiversity Comics - Michelle White Apr 11, 2013

Overall, this is a particularly good-looking comic, and it's a shame that the writing doesn't quite do it justice. Of course, things could pick up next issue " sometimes you need the initial info-dump in order to craft an engaging, complicated story " but as things stand, it's all a bit thin. Here's hoping the execution soon catches up to the concept. Read Full Review

    IGN - Melissa Grey Apr 11, 2013

This intersection of three very different tropes might coalesce into something more coherent as the series progresses but the foundation Ryall has laid out is a little shakier than one might like. Hopefully, he finds his feet in coming issues because this premise is too delightfully twisted to ignore. Read Full Review

Bloody Disgusting - Your Friendly Neighborhood Brady Apr 11, 2013

The aliens are pretty comical. The fact that these ‘advanced' visitors freak out and run away from zombies they made (as the Monty Python rules state) keeps me intrigued to see what these green clowns will do next. Drew Moss' art is crisp in making all the players have unique looks. I only wish the aliens could look more distinct as, not to sound racist, but they all look the same to me. This issue feels like a soft open but I'm keen to see how all these ingredients mix together next month. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Samantha Roehrig Apr 10, 2013

I have no idea how this story will unfold. All I am hoping is that the story will pick up in issue #2. If I don’t see some aliens turn into zombies or some zombies get probed I will set this comic aside and sigh. Read Full Review

Behind The Panels - Richard Gray Apr 13, 2013

There's no faulting this debut for a lack of ambition, not to mention its environmentally conscious leanings, tackling at least three subgenres before the page count is done. Humour is broad, but consistent, with the aliens perhaps more rustic than the militiamen. Read Full Review

If the separatist community with twodifferentideologies as heroesidea seems appealing to you, pick up the book. You will likely not be disappointed with the art at a minimum. Issue 2 appears to be chock fullofaction as we have at least one attacking zombie already in the mix,so some of the story issues mayfall to side in favor of zombie on alien onhuman fighting.
