A double-sized crossover event unlike any before! Two teams, seven centuries apart, united by one woman's diabolical plan. The Chairwoman from CYBER FORCE and APHRODITE IX had a plan to recreate the world in her children's image. Things didn't go as planned. Featuring the present day team of Cyber Force and the 28th century Aphrodite IX, this story lays the foundation for the new comic series IXth GENERATION, launching in 2015.

Im actually rather glad that this is a standalone issue rather than a blending of both books. Though I enjoy Cyber Force, reading Hawkins and Sejics joint work has become something I truly look forward to every month. Together, they are developing a brilliant science fiction saga that, with the artful inclusion of keystone elements of the universe in which their story takes place, has the potential to elevate the Top Cow universe to heights previously unreached. Aphrodite IX/Cyber Force is a crossover that both Aphrodite IX and Cyber Force fans will enjoy as though not essential for the latter group it gives a fantastic teaser regarding the future of the former. Highly recommended. Read Full Review

As well as then getting a bonus short graphic story, as I've said there's an interesting discussion of whether a one shot like this can appease everyone, and it concludes that it's probably not that accessible to the uninitiated. I would tend to disagree in fact, as I was rather impressed. And the promise of them providing electronic back issues free of charge is the icing on the cake. Think I'll take them up on that offer, and I recommend you do too. Read Full Review

Overall, despite the clunky character designs, the illustrations are quite good, but after reading through 40 pages of the story, it doesnt really go anywhere. The pedantic dialogue doesnt help hold the readers attention, and the over arching plot doesnt build tension or grab interest. I certainly hope everything picks up in issue two because the first issue is mired in nostalgic minutia. Read Full Review
