Not only does Bax get closer to understanding just how the city's mysterious killer avoids burning in the deadly sunlight, but also with Cielo's help, he learns more about the city's secrets and the killer's origins. But will it be enough to help Bax protect her before the killer strikes again?
In fact, it is. I said I was a little let down by the last issue after such a great debut issue, but I have not problem saying I liked this one just as much as the first. It moved quickly, but didn't feel short. It also felt like the story progressed in this one and momentum is once again building for Bax to have major confrontations with some of the other characters in the book, and not just the killer. Part mystery, part monster tale, and all science fiction, 'Eclipse' keeps getting better as Kaplan unfolds this dystopian detective story. With Timpano and Northrop on art, it's easy to imagine a future so dangerous and unforgiving.
