Jul 29, 2026It’s pretty ominous that the 25th issue would end with a simple definition of zoontotic spillover. This suggests that things could get considerably more ugly after the 25th issue as humans start getting infected with the disease. Fleecs and company have been working with a relatively small canvas in Stray Dogs and Feral. A subsequent series involving rabid humans could be an interesting development, though it might be devoid of the pleasantly animalistic charm of Stray Dogs and Feral. Could be interesting to see Fleecs and company reach that third layer of the narrative, though. The 25th issue proves that more focus on humans doesn’t hurt the overall dynamic of the series at all. I’m honestly glad that this story arc is finally over. I didn’t exactly hate it, but didn’t really love it either.
Too many characters fighting for screen time. Difficult for any one of them to really get the attention they needed to stand out. And still no real payoff to the injections that were given to Elsie and Chloe back in issue #22.
Chloe is showing signs of infection, as I expected she would. But we didn’t get the horror reveal of her turned into “Bad Kind” like we did with Leland, who turned almost immediately. And that really dredged up my anger about how this story treated Leland all over again. So if you’re a character with no develop more+ Like • Comment -
