"HELL OF A TRIP"
The fourth arc of I HATE FAIRYLAND challenges Gert like never before. Our disaffected heroine finds out her usual bag of tricks may not be enough to deal with what Hell has in store (i.e. eternal damnation, etc...) as her chance of ever making it home creeps closer to zero!
I really enjoy Skottie Young's style in all of these comics and this one still holds true to that. Gert is a horrible human being but is also so likable. I just adore her and her antics. The reference to Michael Jackson's "Black or White" music video was so funny. This was a great issue and I could not get enough of it. Read Full Review
I remain a huge fan of Skottie Young's work and I Hate Fairylandin particular. If you want an out of this world, absurdly funbook to read then I highly recommend picking this issue up and even checking out the graphic novels to get the full story. Read Full Review
Scottie Young's "I Hate Fairyland" continues to be a fun, entertaining series...this issue had me giggling a bit, and I felt real emotion (you got us Skottie) when Gert reunites with her parents, but that just makes what follows all the more effective. After 16 issues, it seems this premise should have run itself out, but Skottie still makes it vibrant, funny, and interesting.
