They say that the truth will set you free. Unfortunately for Twitch, the truth is about to get him killed.
The moodiness of the series continues to dominate the page. There isnt a whole lot of actual activity running through all of that mod, though. McFarlane and Kudranski are moving in the right direction to make things work, but they would have to add just a bit more depth for the story to really go somewhere. As it is, the series continued Bea to feel like a sketch of an idea for a more complete series. There just isnt a whole lot between the covers. What IS there is actually pretty good, though. I'm really liking this Sam and Twitch arc. This number has been very good, we are already in the final stretch. the situation of detective Twitch is very tense and dangerous. it feels like Jim Tresell and the other corrupt cops are going to kill Twitch at any moment. The serial killer is prowling nearby, leaving many corpses in his path. Sam Burke is finally coming to town to help Twitch! Sam doesn't know that he has the psychopath so close and watching him. There is only one issue left to finish this exciting arc. In issue 9 we start New Case, New Mystery, New Screenwriter and New Artist.
This really was the good the bad and the ugly. First the good and God was the art good. Szymon really did try his best to pull the whole story along as the dialogue at time was awful. It read like a 1970's Ironside and took away so much of what should have been real tension. Sorry Todd but this was cringe worthy at times. The ugly was Sam as for all the tea in China , why has he been posted missing in his own book???? Hopefully all will be revealed next issue and tided up but I'm not holding my breath after this mess. I hate scoring so low as I love the theme of this book and it's my kind of art........JM
