The wild group of Saints exit to New Mexico after battling Michael's Southern Fried Henchmen. There an old friend of Blaise's plays some metal records backwards and accidentally conjures Baal, the prince of hell. Heavy Metal, irreverent humor, and saintly murder continue in this ongoing series.
Saints continues to keep us interested but should spend more time on the main story and less on the cliched metalheads. Read Full Review
My one problem with this series is that it feels like it's lumbering towards the plot. It has been strong each issue for the last four, but it still feels like the plot is just now beginning. I can't complain too much, since the first four issues did a lot of character work and world-building, it just seems like the series has been front-loaded with it. If the series can pick up the pace a bit and figure out a balance, it will definitely ascend to that "hidden gem" status of great books that came outta nowhere.
