Abby and Dean have a new purpose to destroy Ostrander and ULTRA, but Ostrander has a new ally-another program subject specially trained to hunt down rogue operatives. Grant Shaw doesn't know ULTRA's secrets or the truth about Abby-all he knows is that he's going to find her and put her down. Abby may have finally met an opponent she can't beat...but Grant is starting to ask questions about the program, and that never ends well for a throwaway operative...
Throwaways #6 was a good addition to the series as a build up to future issues, but as a stand-alone issue it did not really live up to the hype. The pacing is the best part of the issue, with it perfectly timed to not overwhelm the reader, but still provide a lot of information. The rest of the issue is a bit underwhelming from what we have come to expect. Sure, this issue does have a few action sequences, but there is some key creative components missing. This could just be a filler issue, serving as a setup to some heavier issues to come. I feel like the series has hit a hump with this issue and I hope that the next one will push it over. Overall it is a little underwhelming with a predictable ending but I would still say that it is worth a read as you find out a bit more about the ULTRA Program and Alices connection to Deans father.
