The classic '80s animated series is back in this wild western/sci-fi mashup! In the distant future, the safety of the galaxy falls to the Star Sheriffs. When the mysterious Outriders begin attacking planets with advanced technology, a legendary marksman named Saber Rider steps up to stop this terrible new enemy.
Overall, this issue sets up the series for a pretty linear storyline. It isn’t anything too original, but it’s a good plot nonetheless. Overall, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs is passable entertainment that serves as a natural successor to the cartoon in many ways, but it isn't noteworthy enough to recommend unless you're a fan already. By all means check it out if you need something to occupy your mind on a train journey or a five-minute visit to the toilet, but there's no reason to go out of your way to read it. You have a lot of details on what this book is. It's a little like Green Lantern and Bravestar. It reads and looks like a kids cartoon and makes no effort to appeal to adults. At this point you have to decide if these are good things to you or if they're bad. For me, they're pretty damn good. It doesn't make the issue amazing, but it did make it entertaining and that definitely surprised me. Read Full Review
